Silicon Valley Nordstrom Rack planned
Puget Sound Business Journal (Seattle) - San Jose, Calif./Silicon Valley Business Journal
Officials of Nordstrom Inc. announced Friday they will open a 34,710-square-foot Nordstrom Rack store in northern California in spring 2011.
Nordstrom’s off-price store will open in the Pacific Commons shopping center in Fremont.
Nordstrom Rack already operates two San Jose stores — at Westgate
Mall and Westfield Oakridge mall — and at Ravenswood 101 shopping center
in East Palo Alto. The Seattle retailer (NYSE: JWN) also has full-line
Nordstrom stores at Westfield Valley Fair shopping center in San Jose
and Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto.
“We’ve wanted to be in Fremont for some time and are looking forward
to finally opening our doors so we can start serving more of our East
Bay customers,” Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a
statement. “We think this is a terrific opportunity at Pacific Commons
and can’t wait to be part of the strong retail mix at this location.” |
